Hi Folks,
I just saw this Aldi offer for next Thursday (15/8/13) and I reckon there's potential for a very inexpensive mobile machine base here.... A set of four wheeled corners which, they claim, each have a 200kg load capacity giving a massive 800kg in total. Now I may have misunderstood the catalogue entry, or Aldi may be being way over optimistic, but even derating by half it is still very useful. All this for only nine quid!! Yes - nine pounds. :D

I shall be checking them out come Thursday and if theyre any good I''m going to take them at their word and shove a set under my Sedgwick MB, that'll soon sort out the loadbearing capacity.

Cheers,
Steve.

I might just give them a try out, I have a big lump of iron comeing next week which will certainly push them to their limits

Those little wheels will need a very smooth floor not to get caught in any ruts such as standard concrete. for that you need 3 or 4" hard (not rubber) wheels.
Looking as the thickness of the metal on the wheel assemblies, I find it very hard to believe the load rating especially when on the move.

I'd rather wait for either Rutlands or Axi to have an offer on their mobile bases although the downside with those is they only have two castoring wheels, the others are fixed.

Well yes, I share your reservations but nine pounds is all you have to loose... and if your floor is smooth....
Mind you, nothing's as smooth as Fundador

Cheers,
Steve.

I cheched these out and I guess it was to be expected.... theyre not much cop :(

Also the catalogue was lying; not 200kg per castor but a total of 200kg per set, so 50 kg per castor assembly.

Still, may be of use to some folk.

Cheers,
Steve.
