Hi all
You can buy 13 amp flexible cable from ebay for 99 p a metre to make up an extension lead
OR
You can buy a 10 m cable reel with 4 sockets, thermal cut out, and plug attached for £8.99 post free.
Decisions, decisions!!

Well one just arrived and it looks as good as the other famous make reels I have.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I have never had a duff tool from Aldi. They are not top end quality but they knock the likes of Draper into a cocked hat.

I have a few of their tools too, just for occasional use, and have had no problems. I bought their narrow belt sander, dremel type tool, and a retractable air line, all still good. I also have a drill bit set which I bought because it was on special offer. I tried enlarging a 6mm hole in concrete with a 10mm bit from the set, but it didn't last one hole before the tc tip broke. So I keep the metal and wood bits for wood, and the masonry bits will probably not get used. I didn't really expect much better though for the price.

I nearly bought one of these at the weekend as my ancient extension lead is on it's way out but I was a bit put off by the low price and the low quality implied by it.

I might give it a go though.

Aldi being German will comply with the electrical safety regs.
Not something you can be sure of with shady companies
