Hello,

I am in the process of building a kitchen from 'grade 1' (or so they told me!) European oak (again, so I'm told cos I don't know the difference  ).

Does anyone have any advice on giving it a slightly 'aged' appearance, ie darkening the prominent grain slightly without staining?

Is a coloured wax the way to go? I don't want to darken the look overall too much.

If you only want it slightly darker, then I would leave it alone, it will mellow and tone down naturally over the first 6 months.
