... as it has been described by my better half, or as i call it, a fruit and nut bowl, with the facility to keep yer nuts separate from yer fruits :(
After making half a dozen crackers thought I'd change direction and have a go at a bowl. A big bowl. Sapele 16" x3" ( the biggest I've done and getting to the limit of my CL2), lots of sanding, cellulose sanding sealer and a quick soft wax (just to flavour yer nuts :-& ).
Turned on a 2" Exp. jaws for the inside and cole jaws at max on the 'middle' bowl for the outside. Most worrying bit was roughing to round and the discovery of the rather large inclusion and sudden change of grain direction, so just went carefully and poured plenty of ca in at regular intervals.

excuse the photos .

That is very nice Nev well turned and finished thank you for sharing it I made a cheese board some years ago with the same concept as yours for Ritz crackers on the outer edge and the cheese board in the middle but it didn't look as good as yours

Excellent turning, Nev. I like the design of concentric rings to separate the contents. There is something quite challenging about turning larger items - the outer edges seem (and are) spinning much faster in terms of feet/second and any knots etc seem more difficult (to me) to deal with.

Half a dozen crackers? Crikey, I'm still making my first one for the Challenge!! Should be finished tomorrow, though.
