The irony is that if you hadn't said it would be flat packed you might well have got some bidding on that.

Items like this can go viral and some people will buy them, sometimes for silly money, just for a laugh. Some might even think you have some sculpting talent and wonder if they'll get an early piece from a 'one day in the future' famous artist.
Have you ever been to Tate Modern and seen what's on display as 'Fine Art' ?

Hmm. If I buy this, and declare it to be Art (a la Duchamp) who's the artist, me or Mick?

The great irony of Duchamp's 'readymade' fountain is that those on display today rely on reproductions for the centrepiece - somebody taking the p? Maybe if you bought Mick's original, destroyed it and then made a reproduction, it could,,, oh never mind...

Stone me! I've just read the description.

For sale is a unique piece made by ***deleted to avoid advertising this junk***. Made from all salvaged materials with the two beautiful vintage tenon saws, with a natural finish on the hardwood mount and a laquered finish to the saws. The saws have been filed blunt but these are still saws and must be given the proper respect. This is not a heavy load bearing shelf, more of a decorative piece but ot will take light load.

So, they've taken some old saws, made them non-functional, added a piece of timber - and made a non-functional shelf, the world just got a tiny bit less wonderful. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but it's not even decorative, you can't see the saw plates or handles with that arrangement - only a blind man would be pleased to see it. edit: And there's paint splashes on the handles!

By the way, if anybody needs their saws filed blunt I appear to be developing some talent in that area.
