1920's Tiled Hearth in Bedroom

Hi,

I'm about to carpet a bedroom and am not sure what to do with the tiled hearth. The fireplace has long since been filed in and plastered over.

The Hearth is going to be under a bed.

Should I just leave as is and put underlay and carpet over it?

In your place I'd rip out the lot, trimmer and all, install new joists and boards.

Or I might just leave it. :wink:

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll just leave it. Although deep in my subconscious mind there will be that little bit of me that will never forget that it's there.
