Hey folks

Have acquired a new Crownshaw and Chapman(?) table saw, and was wondering how best to set it up.

The blade is 18" taper ground, currently 6tpi in serious need of a sharpen (and a work over to straighten a gradual bow,) though the teeth are fairly evenly shaped (less set at the tip than the heel - is this something to maintain?).

What are thoughts on a sensible fleam angle to use?

For the bow - try flexing against the curve in a vice? Or go straight to a wooden anvil?

O, yes - it's tailless:

I read the title and thought "This is a serious piece of kit" No idea about straightening or sharpening it though. I'm sure some of our resident experts will be along presently to advise.

Steve,

Nice looking saw. :D

If you start cutting tables in half with it you are going to get into trouble.
