Hi Good luck with the project. I built a cedar decked Mill Creek from Fyne Boat kits. They sell all the component parts, including the resin and fibreglass. Super helpful, and they will give you loads of tips on glassing and finishing the boat. Looking forward to more progress reports!

Once glued up I could start on the decks. First I had to add the extra bulkeads to allow the deck to be formed, they were glued with hotmelt glue to allow for easy removal later. I used a mixture of cedar and paulownia strips. This was very time consuming as really you had to let each strip...

In answer to the stitch and glue question, I bought a pre cut kit for the boat from Fyne Boat Kits so everything was accurate, which helps a great deal. There is a definite technique to it, not getting too ambitious and tightening the stitches up out of sequence, oh and lots and lots of clamps...

Hi Well all the kit went into a removal lorry today to its storage home. I couldn't find any ACF50 quickly, so resorted to Tectane PO 496 which proports to "offer lasting protection from corrosion". We shall see if I get back a pile of rusty bits in 6 months or so! Thanks for the replies!

Again thanks for the helpful replies. I was going to go the ACF 50 but getting it locally (Amazon 3 days) ni on impossible. I’ll have a look at Lanacote other options. There will inevitably be boxes stacked, so will bear that in mind. Any other ideas gratefully received :D :D
