    Is this possible?

It was very nice thanks, although I forgot your advice about it blunting the tools quickly - oops. A quick re-sharpen made a massive difference. I do wish I could remember to sharpen at regular intervals.

    Left hookers?

I'd just use it right handed then! Much like I do with a computer mouse or when I play golf with my right handed clubs. Like lathe work none of it has ever entered my head, just did it!

    Is this possible?

Well I bought it! I had a very enjoyable couple of hours at Dodges this morning having a nose around his workshop asking daft questions. Got it home and it all fits like a charm. As you can see it lines up perfectly, it is a lot quieter at the slowest speed but very loud at the fastest, it...

    Left hookers?

I'm a left hooker, and have never thought about it. If anything I think being left handed is an advantage as being in a "righty's" world we tend to be more ambidextrou than rightys so I'm pretty happy switching back and forth. Its safe to say I am equally poor at turning either way round. Matt

    Is this possible?

Thanks for all the advice guys, unfortunetly it was in vain as the seller has decided not to sell now. Guess I'll have to live with my trusty No1 for a bit longer! Matt

    Is this possible?

I did wonder the same, however the new CL1 offers a few things that mine doesn't like a rotating headstock and 4 speeds. Which made me wonder if it will be a straight swop or not. Its more than I wanted to spend but it does look like it may be a good upgrade. thanks Matt

    Is this possible?

On the For sale forum there is a CL1 headstock / motor for sale, I'm wondering wether this could replace the headstock and motor on my old coronet No1. The motor on mine is starting to sound tired/noisy and is not very powerful and of course only 3 speeds. I'm guessing the only real limiting...

    coronet model

No idea where you can get a manual I am afraid, mine came with the lathe. As for the chuck my manual states... 3/4" x 16 TPI Both tail stock and head stock are 1MT. To be honest the manual is not a lot of use apart from this info. As for the belt I'm no help with that either I am afraid mine...

    coronet model

Sounds like my coronet no1. It's green and twin bar. Only three speed but heavy and solid, the limitations is my skills not the lathe a photo would help. Best regards matt

    ...more Pens

More pens, this time both of them as requests, the first one is a Ti Slimline in Pink Ivory, this is for a Friends wife's birthday. The second I was REALLY pleased with after a lot of you suggested a cigar kit next. Here is my first one, really annoyed at not checking the photo before hand, as...

    Barrell Trimmers

Both my disk and belt sander are missing the fences (donated power tools!) Using a spare tube sounds like a cunning plan, anywhere sell just the odd one? All mine are now inside pens! Thanks for the suggestions Matt

    Barrell Trimmers

After posting my first few pens heres (thanks for all the kind words) I have ordered myself some Cigar kits, with bushings. However my barrell trimmer will not fit these bigger 10mm tubes, the only trimmers I have seen have been these do-all ones that seem to be quite pricey at 20 pounds or so...

    A Couple Of Pens

Thats a really nice pair of slim lines, I've only made a few and always gone fatter but these have inspired me to go for the slim look next time. Lovely. Matt

    Yet another hooked on pens

Thanks for the encouragement, any suggestions on where the best place to buy simple "beginners" cigar kits from? I take it I'll need a new 10mm drill, bushings and a different barrel trimmer? Just put together my roundtop kit but got the sizing just a little wrong top and bottom so the nib and...

    Yet another hooked on pens

I thought they were going to be fiddly to assemble, but the simple 7mm twist kit pens are an absolute doddle to put together a mere 2 mins of assembly at the end of the turning and finishing. Its been the finishing side of it that has been the steepest learning curve as I crave the lovely glossy...

    Yet another hooked on pens

Its been a while since I've posted not having done much turning of recent in the nice weather but a little birthday money allowed me to purchase a pen turning kit. heres my third effort, the firsts shape was wrong, the seconds shape was correct but I failed to get a gloss finish. I...

Small Hollow form for Club event

I really really like this piece, I'm only a beginner and normally like the natural pieces, but the colouring on this is really tastefully done. Love it, its the first piece thats made me consider colouring a piece. A piece to be treasured. Matthew
