    Fleeced on Ebay - Argh!!!!

petermillard, clk230, Shane Not taken our Prozac this afternoon, or just feeling like a pile-on? As my opening post stated, I accepted that I need to read listings more closely and not hit the Buy It Now button. Secondly, I asked if the listing was as deceptive as I thought it was, and the...

    Fleeced on Ebay - Argh!!!!

What bothers me is that I'm personally scrupulous when I list anything on eBay, and I've sold a lot on eBay in the past. Not as a trader, just as someone selling goods surplus to my requirements, and I list them as accurately, clearly and with no weasel wording. I just find it more satisfying to...

    Fleeced on Ebay - Argh!!!!

Set in this case implies what Festool describe as the set, which in this case is Systainer, a selection of dominos and the cutters. This retails for £165. The cutters on their own cost over £120, the Systainer costs around £45, and a thousand dominos cost around £50, so the set as sold by...

    Fleeced on Ebay - Argh!!!!

All of you that are saying I should have read the listing more carefully are quite correct, I did after all make exactly that point in my original post, but I'd argue that the listing was written to deceive. I would argue that the listing was intended to have the result that it did, that someone...

    Fleeced on Ebay - Argh!!!!

So this looked like the bargain he claimed it was on first reading: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT Until I reread it after buying and realised he wasn't including the cutters, the b@s!!@!... Amazing what a difference that little"not" makes... So I'm going to have to...

Having now spoken to Axminster it would appear that they are in the process of dropping CMT.

    Axminster dropping CMT?

On the website but not in the new catalogue, out yesterday or the day before. Which might also explain the third off sale they had last quarter. Interesting that Screwfix are now selling them, web only I suspect. Can't see the counters carrying them somehow... Mark, some lovely work in your...

    Axminster dropping CMT?

Looking through the new Axminster catalogue, I'm struck by the lack of any CMT products. Anyone know if this means that they are dropping the brand? Although expensive, I've found the router bits and saw blades that I've bought to be excellent quality, and it would be shame not to have the choice.

    half-mask respirator?

I use a 3M mask that is very similar to that and it works great. The only thing is to make sure that the bit that touches your face is silicone, as they are much more comfortable

Festool TS55 blades on Makita SP6000K plunge saw?

Cunningly the Makita takes 165 mm and the Festools are 160mm.

Festool TS55 blades on Makita SP6000K plunge saw?

Anyone using the Festool blades on the SP6000K? I'm finding that the blade the Makita comes with is frankly a bit rubbish and burns all wood or sheet materials at all feed rates and all blade depths. Festool seem to have a nice range of plunge saw blades but I was wondering if anyone is using them...

    Anybody made a skateboard?

I'm going to assume you haven't seen a skateboard since the seventies.. Camber and rocker are quite important to register your feet when skating. At one point in the nineties the shapes got incredibly complex and refined, before becoming much simpler again, but they are definitely not...

    Anybody made a skateboard?

About the material you need, skateboards are always made from maple, traditionally 7 plies of sugar maple veneers. PVA is the glue of choice and you need to leave them to cure for days before you trim them. One of the main properties you are looking for in a board is durability and toughness...

A complete hardwood machining beginners question...

Don't laugh too hard if you can help yourself... So you typically but hardwood in nominal 1", 1.5", 2", etc plank thicknesses, but what do you you do if you want to end up with a 1/2" board? Is it the case that you simply thickness a 1" down, essentially throwing away a lot of your wood as...
