    Parkinsons No16

Hello all I got this lovely old beast the other day from the other half's mother (it was my Birthday). It had been in her Cellar for many a year attached to an old bench. I'm rather taken with it. Woodworking Vices aren't normally my thing but this may be the start of a new collecting...

    Parkinson Vice

Hello all Thought i'd post some pics of a new addition to the collection. It's a Parkinson Model F No7. Nice old thing, for some reason it's been painted green early in its life as the paint is old & the original colour where green areas have come off is underneath & looks in very good...

    Little & Large Vices

Hello I picked up a little Parkinson No 0A Vice today. It's pictured next to my Parky No8 & a 3in1 can for scale. Incredible quality for what I assume is a hobby vice, really illustrates how good Parkinson were.

    Painting Vices

Hello In my current vice hunt i'm seeing a lot that look like they've been re-painted by Stevie Wonder using a trowel. Has anyone any experience of getting this muck off vices, is it possible with nitromors or something ? Also as i'd then be left with an erm unpainted vice, any...

    Paramo Vices

Hello all, happy Friday. Can anybody please tell me what sizes the Paramo vices are? Do the numbers etc of them roughly equate to the same sizes that you see for Records? I'm on a vice hunt currently (not necessarily for a Paramo) so it would be handy to know how big/heavy models of Paramo...

    Book on vices

Hello I've done searches on various sites but can anyone tell me is there a book containing information/history about Bench/engineering vices ? I know there's a wealth of info' on here etc but i do like to read a book. Bearing in mind I did find a book about adjustable spanners recently I just...

    Vice recommendations

Hello I'm thinking of getting an old engineers/workshop ( not woodworking) type vice for the garage . Ideally something bigger than the SQ4 Record & Record 74 that I already have. Can anyone suggest a good maker or model ? I know it's a difficult ask but there's a lot out there & knowing a...

    Foot pumps

Hello Not sure if these will be of interest but here's some photo's of some of the old footpumps I have ( I do have more !) The Kismet Garage is a Monster sized pump & is shown placed to the relatively normal sized Kismet Baby. The Wood Milne is just a beautiful design in my opinion. Cheers

    Record SQ4 Vice

Hello Here's a photo of another of my Vice's. It's a Record SQ4. I bought this new around 17/18 years ago from a little hardware shop & the chap had 3 in & said they were part of a cancelled export order. They were cheap so a mate of mine bought one of the others ! Thing is it's a model I...
