    Quality Scroll saw required

Hi Blister, you say you haven't used a scrollsaw, and yet you've made over 2000 posts on the SCROLLING section? Somebody's pulling somebody's leg..... Bruce

Foot switch-to use, or not to use?

I made it from an old car starter button. Perhaps that's why I had problems....

Foot switch-to use, or not to use?

A normal 3-pin plug to the foot switch. The foot switch contacts, when pressed, connected the power to a normal 3-pin socket. The saw was plugged into that socket. When you let go of the foot switch, the socket becomes dead, hence the saw stops. Even if you then press the foot switch, the saw...

Foot switch-to use, or not to use?

I started to use a foot switch after reading about them on this and other forums. The type where as long as you press on it, the saw keeps going. Let go, and the saw stops. Worked fine for a few months, then one day, the saw wouldn't start. It turned out, because the saw wasn't being turned off...

Boxes to keep your puzzles in...

Don't you love these technical terms-"whack it in". As bad as my "clag them together".... Bruce

Boxes to keep your puzzles in...

Just a couple of my later boxes. Useful to keep your puzzles in. But of course, the boxes themselves are puzzles. The puzzle is just getting them open. Bruce

    new member...with a big dissapointment

I've had a SIP scrollsaw for about 18 months, and I love it. As someone pointed out, you can insert the allen key through the slots in the side cover-no need to take it off. The only little problem was the head of the allen bolt on the top clamp wore away a little bit. A quick trip to an...

    opinions please guys n gals

I think the difficulty in buying a scrollsaw is that you can't just walk into a shop and ask to try out any scrollsaw that they may have on display. At least, that's been my experience... So you HAVE to rely on other people's advice and opinions. Then do a search on the web to try and find out...

"Dumbed down"? Watching Jimmy's Farm quite put me off sausages and bacon.... ....at least for a couple of days. Bruce

    Jimmy's Food Factory

From the lack of replies, it seems you're the only one watching this programme. (Did I spell "programme" correctly? Being something of a computer nerd, I think I've forgotten my native language.) I did enjoy "Jimmy's Farm", when he was setting up his pig farm... Bruce

    Extension Lead With Foot Switch

If you've got a scrollsaw with the normal "push-on, push-off" switch, the switch will come off when the power is turned off elsewhere: ie: your foot switch. For some reason, this leads to a build-up of carbon deposits on the saw switch contacts, and the saw won't turn on. This happened to me...

    Another weird puzzle box

I must admit, show me a piece of wood, and I wouldn't know what tree it came from. That wouldn't matter really, but I can't get anything but plywood and Basswood locally. I would have to send away for stuff, and not knowing anything about wood, wouldn't know what to get. That's enough puns on...

Is this a real Japanese puzzle box?

...or another cheap imitation? Since you can make it yourself, it's cheaper. Unless you're Japanese and live in Japan, it's an imitation. I guess I've answered my own question. Bruce ...and if this link works, a video of it in action... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-aiS2pI5D8

    And yet another puzzle box...

I use a fairly deep blade, that's almost 1/8" from teeth to the back of the blade. This makes it pretty easy to cut straight lines. Just a slight stroke or two with a file completes the edge. Bruce
