I applied the first coat of varnish to a sign I carved yesterday and it's still very tacky 17 hours after it went on. I shook and stirred the tin and didn't apply it to thick. It's a new tin of a good make-Ronseal yacht varnish. It's so annoying. Can anyone advise what's wrong?
