Are the Ryobi Drill + Nicad Sets still worth the money?

I keep being tempted by the current Screwfix headline offer on the Ryobi 18V drills. This one. I know the Li-ion packs are available and there are newer lime-green drills but for this price it looks like a good upgrade for my DIY use. The more branded solutions would probably be overkill for...

Patina - and where to buy it?

A lot of people seem to have had good results with Patina. Am I correct in thinking it goes on easily and gives a tough finish? I need to put a finish on an under-desk storage cart in Pine veneered MDF and a Pine fire surround (that I spent ages sanding back from gastly). We favour a low...

    Best sites for car repair?

Has anyone and recommendations on either general car repair forums or online car repair tools suppliers? I need to "tool up" to do some work on the car and have found some online suppliers but prices seem high for anything other than the most-tiny-diy stuff. Axminster have the odd item but...

I have real problems getting my saw to make a 0% bevel cut. I always end up with a leaning cut. Its only an old B&D Proline which has had light use over about 15 years. Basically the 0% setting is a lie, and my attempts to set the blade by eye or with a square do not seem to improve things...

    Table Saw in Lidl

I noticed today that Lidl are selling a small basic Table Saw for £80. I have no idea if these are any use, or just cheap. It looked like the rip fence might actually be full length, but the pictures on the box were a bit vague. I hope the info maybe of use to some other novices like me.

Is ryobi good enough (or other cheaper brands)

I need to build a cupboard or two to fit an odd sized space. Probably pine frames filled with T&G - nothing too fancy and maybe some veneered MDF for the interior & top. I reckon that a router will give me better finish, some detailing and square tenons (if I put a jig together first). The...
