    Lathe boring tools

The poor finish will very likely be related to not high enough speeds, coupled with the cutting geometry of the tool on brass. You need a nice sharp insert, easy to achieve with HSS, but a bit specialist for cheap tips.

    Dail indicators help

Truthfully, I am not sure you can. A good bet would be maybe Cromwell tools, or J&L industrial supply.

If they are unsure about a contactless transaction, there is also a pin check which comes into force before a transaction will go ahead.

    Vauxhall Vivaro - - - - utter garbage!

You might be happy to hear that 3 months warranty is total rubbish. Under SOGA you have 6 months in which the burden of proof that the vehicle was not faulty when sold is in favour of the buyer. http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi- ... 3-1011.txt My favourite is this one on page 10...

I think there is a gap in the market.

Seems like decent gear, I had a workcentre but sold it once I got my Panel Saw since it was only used to rip down sheet stock for the lasers. I had the advantage of being a reseller of Triton / Kreg gear.

Axminster Trade Series MJ12-1600 Panel Saw

Heh, keep meaning to update. It has a lot of suck, but I feel the design of the hood for the saw itself is actually terrible. There is far more dust comes from the rear of the saw where the riving knife is and ends up airborne. I also feel the cabinet itself could do with a bit of sealing to...

Laser cutter and engraver advice needed!

Truthfully, £3500 doesn't give you much to play with. Either way, I know Daven would agree here: HPC Laser in Halifax. I have 2 machines from them (A 6850PRO and an LS1290PRO) and both have been faultless. I had to replace a belt, and optics when I smashed a lens, but Chris sent them the very...

Axminster Trade Series MJ12-1600 Panel Saw

Well, i have ordered the dc1100, without cartridge filter (for now). I will be buying it at a later date though! Will report back.

Axminster Trade Series MJ12-1600 Panel Saw

So I fancy the 802 from axi, or that scheppach. Looking to be the 802, since I can easily get the cartridge filter, and it has 2 100mm inlets, so has slight expandibility.

Axminster Trade Series MJ12-1600 Panel Saw

Can anyone recommend a damn good extractor to go with this saw? I think I may want to add cartridge filters for the small particle size (I will be ripping down MDF sheets at some point). Budget is really as much as it needs to be, would spend upto a grand I think, but would rather spend a lot...

Axminster Trade Series MJ12-1600 Panel Saw

I can mirror the thoughts above. I have just assembled this saw yesterday and started to use it, and I am very very impressed with it. I did however, build and install the thing myself. Purely as there was no one around to help! I am now looking for some decent extraction myself. I will see...

Table saw for plastics and phenolics (and wood of course!)

Yeah, now I need a better extractor . . . . My 1660 sqft unit is now covered in a layer of dust. Guess the hobby series extractor I originally bought for the laser is no good for this saw. In fact, I think its actually producing dust . . . .

Table saw for plastics and phenolics (and wood of course!)

Well, and update. Bought the MJ12-1600, and just taken delivery today (4 weeks for delivery!!) and what a cracking piece of kit. All assembled and just done a few test cuts. Manual leaves something to be desired, but meh, got there in the end! One word of advice, make sure you buy a Type C...

    i cloud ?

I used to, but had far too much downtime on the server. Plus, uploads are terrible from home. It was perfectly fine where file access was at a minimum, but now is required pretty much constantly. There is probably far more security in dropbox (and similar) to the bog standard tech used in home...

    Very hard steel

Carbide is magnetic, especially the rod. And tool blank carbide is highly polished to mirror finish. I vote carbide

    i cloud ?

Like everything, it has its uses. I use DropBox and SkyDrive for business stuff. Working between home and unit means everything gets saved "to the cloud". Means it does not matter if I am at one location or another, and even on my mobile and tablet / laptop I can get any file anywhere. Very...

    Vacuum bagging

Give them a call, they are a good bunch of lads and very helpful. Got some quite funny youtube videos on their channel somewhere. I might be biased since they are in the same industrial estate as me. . . .
