    thanks for the advice guys....i have checked out ducting-online and their prices are not too bad but i noticed their 'y joints are £30 each whereas rutlands sell plastic y's for £7 so that was why i was wondering if you can use plastic fittings with metal spiral ducting....

    You are right, looks like they have changed the price. i double checked my receipt to make sure i ordered the 240v one and luckily i did, so i can only guess it was a pricing error on their part that they have now corrected! Lets wait and see if i get a 240V version, fingers crossed!!
