Just completed my first clock, I used a piece of Yew cut in 2 for the top & bottom, the stem is Yew as well. Please could tell me what wood this is ? I think its Red Oak but I could be wrong

Just got this load of wood from a friend know for £40 no idea what wood I have got, can recognize some of them :mrgreen: :oops: this is the first piece i am starting to turning can any body tell what wood it is :mrgreen: , it's a very hard wood if that helps. Many thanks. :D

I have notice a lot work is being done using Acrylics, Any body know where can I get some from :?: all I can find is nail stuff and Acrylic pen blanks, I would like bigger. Any help please :D
