Recommend me a good mechanical pencil...

I've had mine for about two years and because it's shiny I look after it. It's like tape measures, if you have 3 you leave them all over because you have a spare. Have only one and you take more care of it I find. Coley they are pretty strong but even now and then you need to strip it right back...

    roof condensation :-(

I had the same problem in my container which obviously is all steel. Basically just insulate against the roof with either kingspan/celotex/cavity wall slab whatever and fill any little gaps with expanding foam. Then completely cover with a plastic membrane and I'd use 11mm osb to finish. This...

    insulating a roof

I've done my workshop and quite a bit of my house with celotex so have experience of both. Simply for your own sanity bite the bullet and use celotex. It's cleaner, quicker, won't hold moisture and is a less attractive home for small fury things! I know the cost is off putting but it's a crappy...

Recommend me a good mechanical pencil...

Pentel Graphgear 1000 are brilliant. The pointy tip retracts when you close it so you can put in in your pocket without it breaking the lead and snagging on the material. Had mine 2 years or so and it's used daily without issue. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    buttocks!

What Woodmonkey said. The axminster blades are spot on and make a good cut for the price. Delivery is really good as well now. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Countersink / counterbore and clearance hole all in one go?

Colt do a zero mark in three sizes. Fully adjustable for pilot and countersink depths as well. Good stuff nicely made. CW Tyzak sell them on eBay if I remember correctly. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Dovetail jig

As it happens I had this same problem last week all be it with a Dewalt jig. The fix for a joint that's too tight is to make the depth of cut shallower. In my case it was by approximately 3mm but that resulted in an excellent fit. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Plunge saw festool or makita but which

Just check because I'm sure Orbital Fasteners are selling 2 x 1600 Bosch rails in a bag with the connecter for just under £100. You can buy a lot of clamps with the change :-) Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Plunge saw festool or makita but which

Don't buy the Mafell rails they are priced up and re-badged Bosch. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Plunge saw festool or makita but which

Weekend warrior = Makita Bigger budget = Festool Trade = Mafell Seriously there's not that much between them unless you're fitting £50k kitchens. They will all cut a perfectly straight line in the right hands. Pick a colour and go make some sawdust! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Need to buy a new drill

Owsnap clearly hates dewalt and that's fine but he needs to get a grip. The drill listed by the op is a cheap dewalt but makita, bosch, erbauer etc. also do cheap options. I am a professional user with experience of most brands and my opinion stays the same. Buy the pro range of any brand and...

    Stanley tape measure- relacement tape

Stanley tapes even though they are about £2.50 on amazon are mil perfect over a meter and not much more over that. Bargain in my book. Just buy a gold fax max one if you need some bling in your box :-) Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk

    Festool CTL Midi for Soot

Take my advice from someone doing this several times before. Don't use any expensive vacuum for soot, especially if it's in any way damp it stinks! Just buy a Henry with good bags and go for it they just keep going.......and going.....and going......and if you do manage to break one they are...

    Which 18v Kit

Agreed. I bought the dewalt top of the range (at the time) battery drill and subsequently then bought a slightly lighter/cheaper one and they are not the same. Buy the best you can afford of any make you choose. If you're serious about making it a business, then cheap kit will bite you when...

    Which 18v Kit

Dewalt may be part of Black and Decker but the top line of 18v XR stuff is bomb proof. I've lost mine under rubble, dropped them off scaffolds, they have been used in the rain and done their jobs consistently throughout. I do think it's down to personal preference mainly but I wouldn't take my...

    Cash discount

Best place I found to buy is from D B Keighley in Leeds. He was cheapest by far....cheaper than Sedgwick direct and a nice bloke in general. Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk

Spindle Moulder Scribe And Mould Cutters

I've got a single phase Sedgwick moulder with sliding table and it will run 300mm twin tenon discs just fine but that is its max. It needs a 20amp type c breaker to get going but once it is its fine. Scary though once those discs are spinning so make sure you keep your limbs out of the way...
