3 Phase single phase dual voltage motor Star Delta

K Yes I see what you mean about "shaft size, mounting issues, physical size of motor etc" It's for a bandsaw so speed control isn't so important but what you mention above could be a real hard thing to match up, so I think I'll look for a cheap inverter. Am I right in thinking that if I have...

3 Phase single phase dual voltage motor Star Delta

Yes it's a three phase motor, So either way I need an inverter to run it off a 240v single phase supply grrr! It may actually work out cheaper to change the motor to a single phase one. Thanks Chas Bill

    Starter lathe?

Colin Yes, you're right as in the tools you'll need, a few different gouges and chiesels, If it's just spindle turning you're going to be doing then a small Record or Jet lathe will be fine as long as the bed is long enough for your projects ie table legs and the like. But if you intend to...

    Which table saw?

Thanks Steve, I had a look at that saw and I must say it does look like exactly what I'm looking for. I really like the fact that the optional extension tables are cast iron and not pressed steel, as is the mitre fence, and the other big plus for me is the option to have the extended arbor so...

    Which table saw?

Can anyone recommend a table saw in the sub £1000 bracket? Or am I better to save a few more pennys and get something more expensive? I love my woodwork and my tools but unfortunately like most of you out there, "the skys not the limit" but I always try to buy the best I can afford and...
