What's everyone's thoughts on the best drawer box construction in a production environment (ie no hand cut joints) for undermount runners like Blum?
Personally i've used dovetails in the past but always find that because of the cutout for the runner the lowest dovetail at the back is weakened...
Cheers for the feedback Noggsy. Always useful to hear thoughts on how we could improve the site aswell.
Phil, the rebate cutter is designed to cope with removing large volumes of material and its very important that the chips are ejected away from the bottom of the rebate, hence the up shear...
Hi All. 3 sizes of Roundover and Ovolo Cutter are now in stock. R6.3, R9.5 R12.5mm
From starting a single product company mid-recession to the current range is pretty good. Thanks for the support from UKWS readers.
Yes, we are growing the ranges steadily with the sales. It's been pretty exciting so far. We have a list of cutters we'd like to do in future. Its not quite as easy as just squeezing in a few more blades and carbide, especially on some profiles. We might do a poll on the forums in future...
Good points. I like the size of the machines from the guys at DIY CNC. It also looks like they have a fairly aggressive & energetic development schedule. (laser + 3d printing modules) If they manage to get a 4th axis version working I think I'd have to clear a space in the garage!
Has this been on the forums yet? Its a an American site that sells big DIY CNC router machines, Kits, or just plans if you want to do the whole lot.
Everything is in imperial sizes, but they look very tempting!

I've left this thread for a while to let it take its own direction. Thanks very much to Roger for conducting the impartial test and to everyone that has read/contributed.
I think we have impressed all of the people that have bought one so far, which has been great. Most people that have...
I'm really glad that people are giving our tools a go and getting really positive results. Thanks for taking the time to share your comments.
All the feedback we have received so far has been great, and it has given us a lot of confidence.

We have confidence that we have created an exceptional product in terms of Finish, Longevity, convenience for template work and affordability. These discussions have highlighted that our initial marketing on the website are focussed too much on finish and to some extent are excluding the other 3...
Re photography. It is extremely difficult to show finish quality in a photo. It can only be compared really by touch. Its like photos showing the difference in sanding grades! The pics on our website show common routing results that all of us can recognise, and underline the reasons we want a...
This is because the limiting factor in wood routing is the ejection of the waste. As the bit is designed for finish and not really fast feed rates the gullets are not huge. The benefits being reliability and durability. When milling metal the feed rate is limited by other factors as the...
I missed that question. Feed rate reduces as the amount of blades increases. The spindle speed is slightly less than 2 bladers, but we have used it at the same speed with good results.
You would be surprised at the buying price of the bits before big companies add on their distributor margin in addition to the retailer adding their own. The companies you mention would struggle to manufacture to our specification for under £90 by my estimation. That is an even tougher sell...
I've spoken to a lot of cabinetmakers, joiners, carpenters, kitchenfitters and some really like the replaceable tip blades and others do not. Opinion seems to be love/hate.
They do tick the value box but they are not going for absolute finish quality which is what we are after. So in that way...
Hi Jason
Thanks for your reply. I know that the replaceable tip cutters have a very loyal following amongst tradesmen. They do offer great value but that is at the expense of finish. There is no way the two cutting surfaces can be aligned with the kind of accuracy of fixed ground blades (2...
Hi there;
I have just started a very small company selling 4 flute router bits! We started out from the frustration of bits not lasting long enough or giving a poor finish. So we designed and manufactured some of our own!
I know advertising is not allowed on the forums. But I'd really like to...
