I have just purchased some more purpleheart and intend to do 2 smaller versions to stand either side. They will have a smaller version of the base the ball and bead from the original centre section...
thanks, i have some more purple heart and intend to make 2 smaller versions. Purchased some spray laquer from chesnut so i might give that a whirl instead of the friction polish followed by carnuba wax as this finish soon diminishes

Trend do a couple of box sets 1/4 and 1/2 inch which are excellent value for money, i've had both sizes and for the money cannot go wrong approx £35 for a set.
Well, i like it, lovely shape and the lid is nice maybe a mm or 2 higher than the side walls but again personal preferance.
I know its temporary but i like the string lol gives it an oriental old school appearance an gives an age to an otherwise new piece.

I have used evo stick contact adhesive on leather to wood, paste both sides evenly, wait till its nearly gone dry then push them together for an excellent bond, needless to say you need to tack cloth first.
HUdson dont say that i'd virtually decided, gonna head out axi now and look at both machines, the ts200 tablesaw and the 250n bandsaw see if that decides it
ok i've decided to get the small axi 250n, it reckon it will do the job required and providing i can get the fence square and true should be able to square up stock.
table saw next purchase 8)
