    thanks, i have some more purple heart and intend to make 2 smaller versions. Purchased some spray laquer from chesnut so i might give that a whirl instead of the friction polish followed by carnuba wax as this finish soon diminishes

    Trend do a couple of box sets 1/4 and 1/2 inch which are excellent value for money, i've had both sizes and for the money cannot go wrong approx £35 for a set.

    Well, i like it, lovely shape and the lid is nice maybe a mm or 2 higher than the side walls but again personal preferance. I know its temporary but i like the string lol gives it an oriental old school appearance an gives an age to an otherwise new piece. Regards Tony

    Glues for leather to wood

    I have used evo stick contact adhesive on leather to wood, paste both sides evenly, wait till its nearly gone dry then push them together for an excellent bond, needless to say you need to tack cloth first.

    HUdson dont say that i'd virtually decided, gonna head out axi now and look at both machines, the ts200 tablesaw and the 250n bandsaw see if that decides it

    ok i've decided to get the small axi 250n, it reckon it will do the job required and providing i can get the fence square and true should be able to square up stock. table saw next purchase 8)

    they are just down the road so im heading off this afternoon, cut capacity concerns me though thats all, also looking at the ryobi and the woodstar st12 woodstar more at 250 but has sliding carriage and bigger blade, any htoughts?

    so it is!! my eyesight isn't what it was. More i think about more i fancy a table saw i think, going to incorporate it into a bench and share a fence with a router i think

    this little saw http://www.axminster.co.uk/jet-jet-jts- ... rod208698/ from jet is 90mm capacity and i would imagine be better at squaring up timber as its main use will be? the ts200 from axi is only 60mm cut so not as atractive. Read to many forums now with people having to tinker with...

    phone axi today and they have the 250 in stock, they have a return there too which they said they would reduce but i'm scepticle as it must be returned for a reason!. So i reckon i'm gonna get theother for the princly sum of 162 in the morning!!

    Its mainly for small furniture, and truing up timber so the 4 inch cut height of the axi should do me just fine, guided by price mainly, just had a good offer of record bs250 for 179 ? Thoughts?
