    Making dowels

Try Izzy Swan on you tube, he drilled a hole in a bit of metal and then roughened the edges with a dremel tool. square the wood blank and fit end into a drill. Stick the other end in the hole, turn on and shove forward, very good dowels according to him. Sorry for the somewhat strange language...

    sellling wooden toys

Hi, I agree with looking at the thread suggested above. It describes my route to CE marking by self certification. There is a lot of reading to be done but it is all available on line. Speak to your local Trading Standards, they were very helpful to me. Use all child friendly products, keep...

    selling wooden toys

Well, as I have been asked by PM how it was going, I thought I would share it and can only say ..badly. I haven't been in a position yet to try and get this off the ground, various family problems and a job have got in the way. Total sales so far is ' 0 ' :( I need to find a marketing...

Axminster Hobby Series TS-250M Basic Table Saw

What is standard? It is certainly different from my last saw, a cheap Erbauer one from Screwfix. I will try and measure the slot and let you know the size, but I seem to remember reading on here that the TS 200 had non standard slots so I would presume that the 250 has the same. I haven't got...

Axminster Hobby Series TS-250M Basic Table Saw

Just in case anyone is interested, I was on Axminster's email list for when the TS250 came in stock and I was sent confirmation today that it was now available. I am quite happy with mine, but it didn't have much to beat. Paul

Axminster Hobby Series TS-250M Basic Table Saw

Don, the answer to all your questions would appear to be "YES". I have now received the accessories, sliding table and right hand extension but have not had time to fit them yet. Hopefully they will be of the same quality as the saw itself. Probably not that good if you are a pro but compared...

Axminster Hobby Series TS-250M Basic Table Saw

Well my old table saw went up with bang and a lot of smoke yesterday. Having had a look on the net I couldn't see anything I preferred so I was going to opt for the smaller Hobby TS200. Went to Axminster in Sittingbourne and lo and behold they had a 250 on display :D . Apparently they took...

    Craft Fair Pen Sellers's

I know this thread is a little old but it covers exactly what I want to ask. I intend to start trying to sell at craft fairs etc. but as it is all new to me I am a little bit anxious. Please have a look at my web site and take about £3.00 off the prices, and advise me if I have got it about...

Axminster Hobby Series TS-250M Basic Table Saw

So what was the outcome, did you buy one? Reason I ask is because I was considering the same saw as a replacement for my 11 year old Erbauer one. I want an induction motor and would prefer a cast iron table. I only have a small shed and therefore need a relatively small machine. My Erbauer...

    Bottle opener

Hi again, I am slowly getting used to my new lathe when time allows and have been making some usefull'ish stuff. However I want to make the father-in-law a bottle opener but I can not find the metal part anywhere in the UK. I've seen some in the US but has anyone found a distributer in the UK...

    selling wooden toys

Well as far as I'm concerned my toys now carry the CE mark. I think that all the T's have been crossed and all the I's dotted. I have just got to make some toys now. An updated website is being created as we speak to showcase what we make, both toys and other gifts. Thanks for all the advice and...
