Wow, the figuring and form on the Beech is superb. How did the wood turn? Did you have to soak it in something first to make it more workable, due to it being fairly rotten? Dan

Apologies, I did in fact use the Skew in the ‘scraping’ manor, as I know first hand what will happen if you attempt to do a planning cut on a bowl blank using the skew!! Dan

Thanks for the really kind words everyone, very much appreciated! I primarily used a traditionally ground bowl gouge to get the initial shape of the bowls exterior, and then switched to a Skew for the final shaping of the bowl. Yes, I defiantly agree CHJ, hiding the dust in the cracks would...

Very much like it Skeetoids, the shape is sublime and really extenuates the grain of the Yew! Along with a little galaxy, this is another one of my favourites. Dan

Not bad at all Lee. Only ‘little’ thing I have to say is that wouldn’t those raised areas or ‘hoops’ look better with the corners slightly rounded? Don’t mean to be rude at all here Lee, I doubt I could produce this myself- apologies in advance for my design critique. But I love the finish...
