    Scoring blade info required.

The scribe blade should be very slightly wider than the main blade. If it isn’t, the main blade will chip out on the bottom surface. The height of the scribe really should be 2-3mm, but it does depend on the size of the board you are cutting and whether you are able to hold the board down flat...

    Sliding wardrobe doors

I think if the doors are full height, ie 2.2m to 2.4m MDF will bow not because of weight but because of the height. It is very flimsy. If you were to hang a 18mm door of the same dims on a pair of hinges the same would happen, so a third or fourth hinge would be needed. I would find a track that...

    Splitter/riving knife help

Hi there I would suggest finding a local metal worker and asking if they have a spare off cut of plate that you can buy from them. I'm sure you would be able to buy from them at a lower cost than buying online. A larger company would be sure to have a price laying around gathering rust. Just a...

Customer demanding rebuild after 7 months of use or refund.

Sorry to hear your problem. There will always be customers our there that will try there best to find a fault with what we make. Most of the time they are unreasonable people in general. I have had a couple in the last 30 years. I would advise to refund then the money and take the goods, sell on...

Hoffmann MU2 beaded face frame advice

Thanks for the heads up on this. I did think that there must be something that I had to add to the machine, but I've looked at Hoffmamn videos and been through the instructions & could not find anything on the matter. The videos show the beaded front frame but it dissent give any detail on how...

    Melamine supplier & CNC service

Cutwrights would be a good bet as per the last post. I have an old Altendorf panel saw but don't do edge banding. Where in London are you?

Screws or bolts for small climbing frame?

I think that the use of coach bolts is a good idea, an alternative would be timber lock screws these are classed as an alternative to coach bolts in timber structure erection. They come in different lengths and with the use of an impact driver are very quick to use. They have a hex head and...

Advice on a Hoffmann dovetail key router

I'm new on here & think that I posted this in the wrong place last night. Just purchased a used Hoffmann MU2 dovetail key routing machine, looked through the manual & don't seem to be able find any info on how to rout out the haunched upright. The frames that I am trying to join are moulded...

Why can't Anvil make their ironmongery properly?

Imported more than likely. Cheaply made, these companies are more interested in sales as against the quality. Although saying that, with the type that you have shown I think that they are cast or steel that is poured into a mould. Good luck with it!

Which type of clamp would be your go to?

Hi all I'm new on here so be kind! For doors and windows I use Record T bars, the best on the market as far as I know. Have some Maxifix clamps which are fantastic for cabinet work, not cheap but you get what you pay for. I really like the Irwin quick clamps, the heavier duty type have...
