    GOING IT ALONE!!

I second those sentiments entirely. You really learn to trust your instincts about people when working purely with private customers. Life really is too short to work for 'orrible people.....and when working, you need to be able to focus on your work, not worry about whether you're going to get...

    Sliding Sash Window Drawings

In that drawing, the meeting rails are 18mm thick ? That can't be right can it ? Even with regional variations ?? :-k As I remember the George Ellis book 'Modern Practical Joinery' has some good drawings in it. For other things like sash shutters too. Great reference book to dip into when...

    Panel door

Through wedged or stub tenons ??? ....or.........dominos   Looking good. I have to say I enjoy making and fitting the odd door. Not sure I'd want to do it all the time....but there's something very satisfying in the process.

    Sprayed MDF Storage units.

I guess like any tooling, it depends on what you'll be using it for. The only time mine comes out of the box is for cutting scribed stiles, rails or end panels for built in furniture. I love a new tool as much as the next fetishist, but can't see how it'll make my work more accurate, precise...

    Sprayed MDF Storage units.

That really is madness. I love festool myself (ts55, of2200, of1400, domino & ctmidi) but bosch really do make fantastic jigsaws that last a lifetime.

    Projectease

One could start a whole new thread !? I sympathise with you Bloonose. This was the result of a scuffle with my planer thicknesser last year. Again, just down to tiredness, a mind numbingly repetetive task, and momentary lapse of concentration. I'd like to think once was enough. Could've been a...

    What MDF

Vinny - I can't imagine they'd turn the business away if you're discreet. MR MDF will give the cleanest edges when machined, but even standard medite boards are a vast difference to the crumbly fluffy rubbish the sheds sell. Brad - The course is free, over two days, at their Woodley factory...

    What MDF

Just out of interest Duncan, do you use the 'Ready For Use' primer 5005/600 or the other white coloured 2-pack AC primer 5005/619 ? Morrells have recently opened a branch in South London now, just need to find the time to pop in there and open an account. .....Am even considering their 2 day...

Faceframe storage unit - advice needed

You wouldn't need lots of screws, they're merely a way of exerting pressure until the glue has gone off. In the absence of cramps, a mechanical fixing's the only alternative. I can't see where there's any bodgery involved in that ? Re: hinges, I would use butt hinges for a traditional feel, in...
