    Dead space ideas

I have this area in my garage that’s a pretty useless space for efficiently organising things, and with having a small main workshop, everything has its place so I can work stress free. I wondered if anyone here had some ideas on how I can utilise this space well, rather than dumping...

    Remote controlled chip extractor

Thanks for all the help! I’ll speak to my electrician and have him bypass the NVR and have some remote controls at each machine. I’ll try not to stick my hands in the ducting in case the machine turns itself on and pulls me in. Cheers Rhys

    Remote controlled chip extractor

Thanks for your replies. Trouble is, my extractor has to be switched from the power on/off button on the machine (it’s always switched on from the socket). I assume this is an NVR switch. Would the remote control sockets still power up my machine? Thanks!

    Remote controlled chip extractor

Good evening all, I've seen a couple of posts on this subject, but they seem to be fairly dated, and I'm wondering if there's anything on the market or any advice available to help me with the issue. I'm desperate to have something in place to switch my chip extractor on/off with a remote...

    HVLP wax/staining options

Thanks for your reply Custard. I have a little experience with spraying, but everyone started somewhere right? I didn't know much about woodwork 2 years ago and now I run a full time business, so I do need to learn as I'm getting busier. I will be building a dedicated spray booth in my shop...

    HVLP wax/staining options

Hello all, I've been using a Briwax to colour and protect a popular item on my Etsy shop for a while now, but it's becoming very time consuming and with demand increasing for this item, I'm struggling to keep up, so I'm looking for an alternative finish solution. I've been looking at purchasing...

    HVLP finishing with wax?

Thanks for both of your solutions. I tried using a stiff brush, but that was still a lot of work. I usually apply it with a cloth, then buff with a separate one. I'm going to start planing/thicknessing the wood smooth, this will make it much easier to apply the finish. Thanks!

    HVLP finishing with wax?

Hi all, I'm getting busier with my side line job as a maker of things, my Etsy store is getting so busy now, my hobby has started to become a full time job. One thing I'm getting really tired with is the rubbing down of Briwax into a particular item I sell, as it's rustic so there's lots of...

    DeWalt DW745 Jobsite/Contractor Saw 240V

For sale as per thread title. The saw is used, but not excessively as I'm a hobbyist woodworker with a small single car garage workshop. It does have the odd surface scratch, but so will a two week old saw with moderate use. I've just purchased a brand new fence for it (2 days ago) as I...

    Storing rough lumber

Thanks! How long usually? Also, how long do I have to work on a project before the acclimatised wood takes on moisture again?! This is so frustrating :?

    Storing rough lumber

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct place for asking this question, sorry if it is. I recently made a couple of end grain cutting boards from white oak as a gift for someone, I used my planer/thicknesser to get the pieces perfectly flat, the boards were virtually flawless until a few...
