I'd love to know how chippy 1970 got the edge to those shelves. Presumably it's mdf but how do you get a finish like that at the front and still hide the led strip lights?

I was actually given a few led strips by sheer co-incident. Chippy1970 I love what you built there! Is it mr-mdf? Have you 7sed edging band or covered the edges elsewhere? Also, could you tell me a bit about how you have hidden the lights?

Thank you. If I do them as two separate cabinets I will need to make it look like one so may just use one end that is a third the size. That way I will have something to screw into and it won't stand out. Thank you all for your help.

Would you suggest an mdf 18mm lower section with a scaff top for effect?

What would you suggest I do? I can't really add a corner support as I will need to put sky box dvd box etc probably in the joins?

Thank you all very much for your advice. I think I will go for buscuits. Its funny that you mentioned the mitred sections. I was going to butt join them by starting with one section as a cabinet and then I was going to use pocket holes to join one section to the other. I wasn't confident...

I was just wondering where everyone stands on faceframe. I know they are big in America but I've never built one but I have a small cabinet to build and I am tempted. I was just after some opinions on the matter.
