Face frame

I was just wondering where everyone stands on faceframe. I know they are big in America but I've never built one but I have a small cabinet to build and I am tempted. I was just after some opinions on the matter.

Face frames can look great, or they can look overpowering. In some ways, less is more.

If you are going to polish this little cabinet, plan your cutlist very carefully indeed.

In the ideal cabinet, the frame, and the rails and stiles of the door which sit inside them, are cut from the same board with aligned grain. That is not difficult, but it does require care to get right.
