    JUUMA Body Clamps

If its of any interest to you... I bought a set of four 1000m Juuma clamps and although they do work fairly well the steel is not as straight (not enough to cause any problems) and is a bit more springy that Besseys. The head is quite stiff when sliding along the bar but seems to be loosening...

    JUUMA Body Clamps

Hi I actually meant their body clamps which are like the Bessey Kbody clamps. Also has anyone used the new Axminster Trade HD Parallel clamps which are the same style? I can only find reviews on the old ones. Any info much appreciated.

    JUUMA Body Clamps

Anyone know much about them? Read another review of a lever/ratchet clamp on here that was positive. Might give them a go if no one else has got their hands on some yet.

Get that in writing or audio recorded. After reading through this and wondering if I should just take the plunge again with some more tried and tested Bessey kbodys or try some cheaper variety I know what my decision is cheers guys.

Hi there I have an old 3phase meddings with a similar bed as tge above chap; dead square but not the easiest thing to move. I also prefer that. My advice when you go to see one: 1 Draw the drill all the way down, grab the chuck and see if there is any play. 2 Check the bed for square. 3...

    Martelet spindle moulder

Depends upon what materials and cutters your likely to be running. Also depends how fast you want to work and whether you are prepared to run stock through a couple of times to get to finished cut or you just want to wang it through quickly and cut in one pass. With spindles go for a solid...

    Buying a Lathe - powerful/sturdy enough?

Thanks for all the info guys. Good to know what can be done and what can't. Will be outsourcing the pedestals and put the idea of buying a lathe out of my mind (for now). Cheers all https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNHVeCUQxeY Not yet then :(

    Buying a Lathe - powerful/sturdy enough?

I have some experience with using a lathe from college but it is limited and has been a few years since I have been on one. I was planning on laminating some 1.5" or 2" sections together. I have wanted a lathe for some time and I do have other projects that I could use one with. Thank you for...

    Buying a Lathe - powerful/sturdy enough?

Thanks Phil. Any idea what sort of size it could manage over the bed (Diameter and length)? On the record power website it says "Maximum swing over bed: 305 mm (12")" Is that then 12" diameter it can fit over the rails? Any recommendations on what size machine I would need? Maybe these...

    Buying a Lathe - powerful/sturdy enough?

Hi guys its been a while Hope everyone is well and woody. A job has just come up requiring me to make some rather large pedestals for some console, coffee tables and aTV unit. The pedestals will likely be made out of Oak and will roughly be 450x275x275 for the coffee table and around...
