Thanks guys for your advice. The request is for 10 frame's initially so I think that the guillotine is too expensive. I will try the shooting board method next and see how I get on.

I want to finish the top with hardwax oil but the boss wants the pink colouring in the wood to show up. Should I use a base coat to bring out the colouring or will the hard wax oil do the job on its own?
