    Hardwax Oil base coat

    SWMBO brought home a plank of Monterrey Pine and demanded a side table be made from it :roll: I want to finish the top with hardwax oil but the boss wants the pink colouring in the wood to show up. Should I use a base coat to bring out the colouring or will the hard wax oil do the job on its own?
