The tracking on the machine is tricky it runs fine when not under load but when sanding on occasion it will run to the front of the drums and then tears the belts, when paying attention it's not a problem but forget to concentrate and you miss it.
BND was on my hit list thanks for the recommendation.
Finishing components don't seem to have a website but I will give them a call.
Thanks for that :)
I have the Dust commander and the Dust Commander DLX purchased from Amazon and they both work well connected to Metabo 150mm orbital sanders and cheap Triton vacuums.
I must say that Jon's design looks interesting and could I suspect be scaled up to a 44 gallon drum with a 6 inch extractor, I...
I have just purchased a Nore YK1500 (was also sold by Luna) Stroke sander.
A relatively small machine but proving to be a good bit of kit so far anyway.
It came with some paper backed belts but they are not lasting doing what I am doing and I need some fabric backed belts any suggestions on...
just as an update I have now gone for a secondhand saw, I do have a large workshop and am lucky enough to have 3-phase power.
I think that the Charnwood W650 is basically a good product, but like all new saws it will need varying degrees of tuning.
I have now got a Startrite TA275 recently...
Did you get it ok and does it meet expectations?
I'm still procrastinating, work has dropped off a bit at the moment so in less of a hurry to make a choice right now but must do it soon.
Thanks Rodders
From what I can find out when the saw (w650) was released it didn't have a slot but that wasn't liked by many and they have added one to it.
However I have asked the seller to clarify.
Cheers
Dave
Now that people have used it for a while is this saw considered a good buy?
Am I correct in thinking that the Charnwood w650 now has mitre slots in the table? I have been looking on ebay and some show slots in the photos and others don't.
I too am looking for a new saw.
But my the website really is horrible! doesn't seem to work at all and really hard to navigate.
They also seem to have two websites
http://woodfordwm.co.uk/ & http://woodfordtooling.com
Am I right in thinking the first one is out of date?
50" Saw looks...
I am big believer in molasses for rust removal and unlike electrolysis it does not work harden the metal.
I have used the stuff for many years to derust sometimes extremely rusted tools of all sizes I have even done engine blocks in it, a lathe body and a light truck chassis in a tank...
I am fortunate enough to have a large industrial bobbin sander that has bobbins ranging from 1" up to 6" in diameter it is the just the best thing for smoothing curves.
The workshop belonged to a pattern maker they don't really do straight lines and the craftsman (retired) though this machine...
So annoying when that happens asking for it using brass screws in hard wood though. You need to get the pilot hole just right in hard wood, I worked in Jarrah (very hard west Australian timber) for many years and this happened a lot.
I would solve it by using a plug cutter just large enough to...
