Thanks for the update. It looks like you're pleased with your purchase. The Scheppach 3.1 does appear to be the same machine without the spiral cutter block. The question is, is it worth the extra £400? :-k

Thanks Trevanion, I think I'll try and make the trip to S&S's showroom in Horsham to take a look. On paper it looks like a decent machine for the money.

How are you getting on with the iTech? As you say, very little info on the company or reviews of their products out there. I’m currently considering the 310S variant from S&S, or otherwise the conventional 3 blade Startrite SD31. Would be interested to hear if the machine is still living up...

Thanks for the advice Merlin. It's missing it's riving knife and guard which is a shame, but I like the rack and pinion fence adjustment - seems sensible to me and I wonder why more companies don't use the same design? The motor is what worries me too - not sure how hard it's been used so hope...
