    Vertical bike storage?

I used Steadyrack, you can swing the bikes to one side, effectively stacking them against the wall. Not the cheapest by great solution if you don’t have much wall space. https://uk.steadyrack.com

interlocking pvc or rubber mat floor tiles for woodworking garage workshop

I have the older version of the tiles (slightly different clip pattern) and think they are great. Very easy to fit. I went for the smooth grained version rather than chequer plate as was concerned about cleaning the chequer ones. I had reservations about heavy kit on them too, they do dent a...

Cedar strip canoe - moving swiftly on

Hi Good luck with the project. I built a cedar decked Mill Creek from Fyne Boat kits. They sell all the component parts, including the resin and fibreglass. Super helpful, and they will give you loads of tips on glassing and finishing the boat. Looking forward to more progress reports!

    2 Man Canoe

Once glued up I could start on the decks. First I had to add the extra bulkeads to allow the deck to be formed, they were glued with hotmelt glue to allow for easy removal later. I used a mixture of cedar and paulownia strips. This was very time consuming as really you had to let each strip...

    2 Man Canoe

A few more - getting ready for the gluing up, the seams are made up of an epoxy, with saw dust and then taped over.

    2 Man Canoe

Here's a few more of the build process - gluing the aft and stern required lots of clamps and a few screws to hold it all in place

A few more WIP pictures: showing the stitches and forming the shape of the boat.

    2 Man Canoe

Hi Sorry for the thread resurrection, house move and being without broadband for a month (thanks Openreach!) causing delays. I was asked to post more WIP pictures, here's a couple showing the inner gunwale and the finger joints being glued up. I also made up a long bench to make it all on...

    2 Man Canoe

In answer to the stitch and glue question, I bought a pre cut kit for the boat from Fyne Boat Kits so everything was accurate, which helps a great deal. There is a definite technique to it, not getting too ambitious and tightening the stitches up out of sequence, oh and lots and lots of clamps...

    2 Man Canoe

Ok Ok Ill post some more pictures later. The build doesn't take that long, its the finishing, varnishing etc!

    2 Man Canoe

I thought I would post some pictures of my 2 man canoe. The hull is stitch and glue construction, the deck is made from cedar strips individually fitted over a temporary frame, before final fixing to the hull sides. I'm pleased how it looks and paddles, it certainly gets more attention that the...

    Storing Woodworking Machinery

Hi Well all the kit went into a removal lorry today to its storage home. I couldn't find any ACF50 quickly, so resorted to Tectane PO 496 which proports to "offer lasting protection from corrosion". We shall see if I get back a pile of rusty bits in 6 months or so! Thanks for the replies!

    Storing Woodworking Machinery

Again thanks for the helpful replies. I was going to go the ACF 50 but getting it locally (Amazon 3 days) ni on impossible. I’ll have a look at Lanacote other options. There will inevitably be boxes stacked, so will bear that in mind. Any other ideas gratefully received :D :D

    Storing Woodworking Machinery

Thanks for the replies so far. Everything is being packed into the removers wooden crates, then the whole crate put in one of their (clean and dry) warehouses, I guess with minimal heating, maybe frost protection. Normally more suited to furniture I guess. The spray looks like a good plan, so...
