    Lamello Invis Fixings

You can hear the mechanism inside the fixing quite clearly when trying to locate it using the magnetic driver so location is not an issue, the idea is that it's a high quality hidden joint so knowing that they are present is not normally something you'd expect a third part to find.... They're...

Thanks for the response, I must have the main motor wired the wrong way! I will have a look at the rear roller settings and I'll try emailing kufo thanks

Any one got a kufo drum sander? Need to check a few things..

Hi, I've not long won a kufo sk-ds 25 on eBay and got it powered up through my phase converter no problems. I do however have a couple of questions: Firstly, the drums spin in the same direction as the conveyor belt ie pushing the stock to the back of the machine, this seems backwards to every...

    Large oak dining table.

Thanks mark. The bill total was £1250. It was a slight undercharge in retrospect as labour wasn't charged at full price @61 hours. Thanks Alex

Thanks, I would have rather not stained it but that's what the client wanted. Alex

    Kity 1637 p/t

Hi, axminster's current range of trade planer thicknessers are based (almost copies) of the kity machines, most of the aw106pt spares fit my kity 2636 so the larger model axminster equivalent may do the job for your kity machine. I've used axminster spares on my machine with no problems before...

    sticking 8'x4' Birch plywood together

Hi, I use bagpress for laminating boards up, clamps will work fine too with weight in the board centers. If you have a bag press, use it :). A blanket over the top will help evacuate the air to avoid air pockets too. Thanks Alex

    10.8v or 12v drill drivers......any recommendations?

Personally for a 10.8v I would recommend the festool cxs, they aren't mega money but will hold up great against even some 18v models out there currently, especially the cheapo brands, charges in 20mins, light, powerful and obviously the centrotec system works great. I have used the bosch...

Dedicated Spindle Sander vs Drill Press Sanding Drums

The drill press isn't really designed to take pressure from the side like a bobbin sander is, generally they are designed to exert pressure from above, the bearing/s will wear quicker if you use your pillar drill this way. It's also the convenience of not having to alter machines all the time...

    Ticknesser scuffing

Not meaning to sound belittling, but did you feed the timber in the correct way? The grain will machine better in one direction than the other. Obviously around knots and areas of alternating grain, breakout is inevitable. Thanks Alex

    Veneer glue

You can use PVA, titebond i/ii/iii, west epoxy, extramite/cascamite. The lack of air in the vacuum only simulates the lack of air in normal glueing conditions to due it being excluded from clamping, axminster do however, stock titebond cold press glue. Alex

    Rojek Tools.

I have a rojek spindle moulder with the aluminium sliding table, axminster used to stock rojek, they're well made good machines however finding spares can be very tricky, axminster can sometimes help with sourcing parts though. Alex
