    Woodworking joinery programmes

Its Paul Sellers for me, he demonstrates the use of basic hand tools and alternatives to get the job done especially if just starting out with only a basic tool kit.

    Work Bench Top

Many thanks for your replies! I have some food for thought, Beech or ply. It's a case of beauty or the beast and I think the beast might win. Would you glue up the first 3 sheets of ply and counter sink and screw the top piece allowing it to be easily removed. Again many thanks all!

    Work Bench Top

Thanks for your reply Carl, It's the real wood work top and 30mm thick not 3 as I said. I have heard of it being used before and wondered what the overall opinion was. I have thought of using ply but was looking to use something better. Perhaps someone has used it before. regards

The bench can only be 5ft in length as I have limited space. I was looking in wicks and saw they were selling beach kitchen work...

Your thoughts...

    Which Magazine?

Steve and Rob I here what you both say and your points are valid, I think what I was trying to say was that not everyone has the financial resources to purchase the machinery that articles refer to, and that perhaps an alternative method might be touched upon to encourage and include those with...

    Which Magazine?

As a newby I wonder how many potential wood workers are put off through magazines, there is very little in them to demonstrate using a basic tool kit, for instance something as simple as squaring a piece of wood. The magazine will tell you put it through your planer/thicknesser that cost £400...

Axminster MB9020 Benchtop Planer Thicknesser Mini Review

I have had 2 MB9020 planer/thicknessers and have got to say disapointed with both. The first would not cut edges straight and the second kept siezing, in the end i got a good deal on a second hand Metabohc260 off ebay and not looked back. Quite a few of the members have bought the axi and had...
