Bought a piece of padauk to give it a go. Nice wood and finish but the dust is unreal. Don't think I will use it again.
This is what the extractor looked like after and the filters in my trend a/s/pro.
Also had a vacuum at the front of the lathe so this wood shows you what's floating about while cutting. Has stopped all the rubbish going into the secondary filter though.

It`s not that it`s necessarily any more dusty than other woods, just that, as you suggest, it shows up more!
It does mellow to a nice, rich dark brownish red colour though.
 
Yeah think you right about it showing up more because of the colour. Really love the finish funny the wife doesn't like the colour at all. :lol:
