You've nearly convinced me to get up one morning and go for a walk myself. I've not been to one in about 25 years! Looks like you had a nice haul.

Well done you look to have some bargains there.

How will you clean up the Record plane? It's something I should do with a couple of mine.

Hi, Blister

I got mine

The Record hand plane will be really nice once you've cleaned it up, I was given a 1950's one that had been used, but never in my opinion been sharpened up correctly. After getting rid of initial rust that the tool had accumalated over time, I sharpened up the blade and it is now probably my sharpest and cleanest cutting plane I have, even though the rest came straight out of the box!

Every now and again I see the Stanley power tools, and I wonder if they are as good as their hand tools used to be?

Nice little haul there.

I got a few things today. Notably a nice little wooden skew plane by ED (had a stamped logo of an E inside a D), a Groves and sons Pig sticker and a Spear and Jacksons rip cut saw. Unfortunately the saw has a split and is quite bent but the handle is in very good condition, so could be used as a transplant and for sharpening practice. The saw also had some text on the blade about london 82 spring steel or summit and how the set should be hammered in

I also saw quite alot of record vices -there were 2 small record 55's and a larger one. The guy wanted £7 for the 55 and £15 for the slightly larger one but didn't see the point of hauding them when the 52.5 E I have is larger
