Out of curiosity I ordered a copy of the Zinsser 'Pocket Guide to Surface Priming and Decoration' last week, it came today. It's a handy little guide, unsurprisingly focused on Zinsser products. I think all of the information is available piecemeal on their website at http://www.zinsseruk.com/how-to-guide/ but sometimes it's useful to have a hard copy to hand.

http://www.zinsseruk.com/free-book/ to request a free copy

http://www.zinsserdirect.co.uk/homepage ... %20Guide... to read it on-line, although mysteriously the on-line version seems to start at Asbestos, whereas my paper copy starts with Aluminium.

Hmmm... oddly I can't link to the pdf directly, you have to click on the little red book cover to the left of the screen, or use the link from Reeds of Wantage (who seem to stock some nice stuff) http://reedswantage.com/public/uploads/ ... t-2014.pdf

I agree with you...it is a very handy book. I rate Zinsser highly. All my outdoor woodwork is primed with their paint. At least it has some good 'body' in it, actually sticks to the wood and masks the underlying colour. Unlike Farrow & Ball water-based exterior primer...more like very diluted low-fat milk than paint.

I agree, I tried to like f&b but just couldn't get on with it ; I thought zinsser was expensive until I tried using it, now I think it's very good value.
