Beautiful, but wet, Mid-Wales
Here are some photos of a large yew pot I have just finished turning. The wood was very hard, and I had to keep sharpening my gouge every 5 minutes or so. The cracks which can be seen clearly on the bottom of the bowl were getting larger all the time, and I stopped turning when I got too worried about the whole thing coming apart and flying off the lathe.

Any comments (good or bad!!) would be welcome.

Mike ,thats a beautiful piece of wood .You did well to get such a nice pot from it without doing yourself a mischief . Well done love the shape it is (now) hope it holds.
 
That really is a nice bit of wood, I love all that red colouring! Nice pot too. :)
