Anyone going to yandles on saturday the 23rd for the brimarc show?
i shall be in Somerset visiting family and will be there from mid morning till I get bored.
Be nice to put faces to names.

I will be heading there next weekend. Actually going to pick up some more clamps rather than anything else, but not got time to get out of my workshop in the week.

You would spot me. 6ft 4 inches and I use crutches.

Nick

Current plan is to be there at 11 am. We are meeting other friends so it may well be a busy day, but I will be on the lookout for you.
I'm 2 inches shorter than you but dont use crutches, only distinctive thing about me is that I'm late 60's and tanned enough to look middle eastern, but speak with a London accent. And there will be two ankle biters shouting "grandad, whats that do"?

Got there at 10, left at 2.30. Nick, if you went you must been wearing your stealth cloak.

I was a bit disappointed but it seems it was my fault.
I had thought that all the jet machinery would be there but it was all the small stuff that bri marc sells, mainly because yandles is a record main dealer I think.
Had a long talk with a record rep. about bandsaw blade adjustment, need to go back and try out a few things.

I bought a record bobbin sander at a fair price, and have spent the rest of the day dismantling it into 18 kgs lumps so I can get it back in my luggage allowance. Motor and gearbox alone is 15.2 kgs.

Good weather for a change. been in the uk 4 days and its only rained on two of them!

oh har.
(g)

good job I'm used to this rubbish weather. Only another 7 days to put up with it.

went to watch my 4 year old granddaughter march in her majorette troupe today. she did very well, despite it starting to rain as they marched off and not stopping until the actual minute they stopped an hour later.
There was a very surreal moment when they had stopped marching and were marking time while the drums and glockenspiels played...
I suddenly caught on they were playing the Surfari's "Wipe Out". 6 young teens girls playing a tune from the 60's, and a damn fine job they made of it too.

Sunnybob, not in my invisibility cloak. I didn't make it in the end as in had to work. My neighbour has suddenly become really funny about me working on a Sunday. Fine if it was the noise that bothered him, but it is the fact that he is a born again Christian and Sunday should be a day of rest. When I wasn't as busy, he did not mind me working Sundays, but he knows I am ultra busy and my business is going well, he keeps saying and checking whether I am in my garage working.

Anyway, I decided last minute to go to watch Gloucestershire v Leicestershire on Friday so had to catch up Saturday with work.

Cheers

Nick

tell him you are on a mission from god, building an ark because the rain will not stop.

Sunday might be a day of rest for him, that's his choice. What you choose to do on a Sunday (especially if you're not making noise) is of no concern to him.

You are absolutely right, but although he is a "christian", he could cause trouble as he could decide to complain about noise in the week and he is friendly with my landlord. He has previous form in his past of causing problems if he decides he doesn't like someone.

As it is, he monitors all my deliveries, and keeps leening over the fence saying he doesn't know where we get our money from despite not knowing what we spend or earn.

He will have kittens in September when we pick up our new car! Especially as I have asked the dealer to get me a number plate with a " G" either before or after the "66". I think a G is the closest I can get to 666 :D

Just turn the other cheek Nick. Then pull your trousers up and go inside for a cuppa.

Find an appropriate quote from the bible and post it up in the entrance to your workshop.
There is bound to be summat

Here is one I have just found
Proverbs 14:23 In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.

Very good. I did recently annoy him, possibly why he is doing this. He has a daughter called "Elizabeth". He saw some letter related to my 4 year old (called Libby) with her proper name. He looked confused and asked why we had named her " Elisabeth" with the S. I responded that this was the biblical spelling, the Z came in during the Victorian period. I have to say he looked rather miffed, especially as he knows I only ever ton into a church for weddings and funerals.

It is really annoying especially as my kids are on school hols and I am flat out with a job that I need to finish before we can go on holiday. Also, our house is detached with a pretty decent space between both neighbours.

I may have to start looking a renting a workshop. I had one until 2 years ago but gave it up when I had surgery which involved my leg in plaster for 5 months.
