Wood identification question, please if anyone can help - is this ash - I originally thought elm? I know the experts on here should know straight away

Legs and frame could be something else, i'd need to see a closer picture. Its a pretty little table.

I'd say elm, but I'm no expert. However, I would like to agree that it's a sweet little table. So little to it - except for lovely, aged wood, no extra weight where it's not needed and subtle decoration with the sawn curves and the bead around the drawer. Is it yours?

Agree it's a super little table - so simple but "just right".
Without seeing a closer shot of the grain, can't be sure, but my money would not be on elm, certainly not for the legs. Doesn't have the "partridge breast" effect that you get with elm, and given what a pig elm is regarding movement, would be surprised at the top being so thin and staying so flat.
Ash, possibly, chestnut, maybe??
