Hi All
I need a bit of help to identifiy the following samples, i know what the samples are but not which is which.
The woods are MAPLE, BEECH, USA CHERRY and USA ASH.
Any help would be much appreciated

1. Maple
2. Ash
3. Cherry
4. Beech

Shame the flash or whatever has given them all the same colour cast, but you should be able to identify American Cherry against those other three from colour alone, and 4 is going to be Beech because of the grain flecks. After that Maple is much tighter grain than Ash so that should be easy enough.

By the way, if the Beech has a slight pink cast then it's been steamed, which is pretty common.

Thanks very much, i only got the maple right. The beech (4) does have a pinky/reddish cast to it, which i thought was cherry.
