Hi,

I was thinking of buying one of these http://www.axminster.co.uk/floor-gulper-attachment to attach to my extractor - but to be honest it seems a bit pricey - has anyone made their own ? or know somewhere that sells them cheaper.

You could fabricate the nozzle ad blast gate out of ply and use soil pipe instead of clear tube.
There are plenty of plans around for the blast gate (just google DIY blastgate) I don't know of any plans for the nozle but it should be easy enough to work out with a few pieces of cardboard and some tape. The castors are readily available online or often at lidles.

To be honest unless you want the satisfaction of making it I thing the priceand you would struggle to make one for less if you have to buy in all the materials,
