Wire, Pipe and Stud detector

Is there any good "behind-the-wall" detector for sniffing out Wires / pipes / studs (/ skeletons ?)

my friend told me of a "triangular - black - detector" which does this job and fits into the pocket (size wise and £ise wi£e)... but he can't quite remember the brand name.

Any recommendations pls ?

I did read in one of that mags although I forget which one that the Plasplugs one was quite good. Not sure how much though as I am also looking for one. :wink:

These things are a nightmare as far as I am concerned because I reckon they are designed for the timber framed building market. I now have bought the £50 odd Bosch from Axminster, because it can be set to give a reading at a pre-set depth.
The previous useless tools would sound off no matter where they were placed on my walls. Fortunately we have a RCB unit.
