:? Why is it when I pour from a gallon of water, I don't spill any. When I pour from a gallon of vinegar, I don't spill any ... but when I pour from a gallon of white spirit, I end end up with it on the floor, on my hands, clothes ... :D

It's either 'sod's law'

or

Surface tension of white spirit is a lot less that water etc, which means that it doesn't form a raised bead as you pour, instead running more freely.

Sorry, not a Scot. I'm a Sassenach interloper from the dark lands south of the border. My OH is a Scot though, so I can apply for a passport because of that.

However... Army Veteran = Alcohol expert!!

Well, I'm a Scot and a vet so...

By the way, your son will love Brunei, I was posted there for a year in KB as garrison SO3 G6. Didn't want to leave the place.

Yep. He and his wife are loving it out there. He's doing Helicopter Medic courses, Jungle Rescue courses and lots of hands-on medical stuff. His wife is doing lots of work collecting for Nepal.

And my first grandchild will be born in November! I'm going to be a Nanna!!

In that case, get the workshop finished and build a crib :)

Depending on your can, if it is rectangular in shape (top view) then try tipping it out from the wider side rather than the narrower side (as gut feel suggests you should).
