I want to buy a random orbital sander but limited finances mean a cheapie!
I cant decide between these two, a Bosch PEX220A at £50 or the JCB ROS-330w at £57 what do you think?
The JCB has a variable speed 6000-12000rpm with a 330w power output, whilst the Bosch is not variable but runs at 24000rpm with only a 220w power output.

I want it use it on some little chairs I am making for the grandkids, and similar projects, nothing major!

By the way I get 10% these prices at B&Q cos I'm an old git!

The Bosch looks more comfortable and is lighter. However the JCB has variable speed control and is more powerful.

Both seem pretty good. I'd pop down and see which one fits your hand better as that is probably one of the more important factors as you'll need good control to cope with the vibrations.

For your intended usage variable speed is irrelevant. Save the seven quid and put it towards a wider range of really good quality abrasive paper, which is where you'll see the biggest difference in performance.

Good luck!

Thanks everybody, I've gone and got the JCB!
It was a bit bigger than the Boch and felt better in my shovel like hands!
I've tried it out this afternoon and I'm quite impressed with it!
