Its hospital surgery week for the nipper next week so I've been guffing around doing bits n pieces with little time to spare between other jobs. So here's a roundup of the scoops I've already snapped but together this time plus a Laburnum box and a lidded apple box I made the Guv for Valentines. The Laburnum was a crotch and the grain just stunning. You can see the exact middle line where the stem and the branch part in a lovely line inside the hollow. Finish on all except the Lab was food safe oil and on the Lab SS and MC wax. The scoops are birch and cherry.

Thanks nOlegs. The scoops were an experiment which I really enjoyed doing in the end. Once I'd turned a goblet essentially, I belt sanded the opening side being careful to profile it so it finished at the lip. I nicked the idea from a Richard Raffan video I'd seen. Of course he knocks them out in about 5 minutes flat whereas it took me a while longer :) The cherry was a lot nicer to look at than the birch.
