Has anyone used Tufnol for templates or jigs and know if it cuts / shapes ok with tungsten tipped blades and cutters. Thanks Geoff

Cuts and shapes fine with HSS lathe tools and milling cutters, so should be OK with tipped tools.

Good luck,

+1 as Peter says, I always turned and milled it with standard HSS cutters, TCT should be fine as long as it's sharp.

Thanks for the thumbs up everyone....now I am intrigued by the smell !! :)) Geoff
You won't ever forget it.

Both SRBF (tufnol, fabric) and SRBP (paxolin, paper) have one of those unique smells that stay with you.

Still nothing compared with machining Erinoid, if anything is aimed at making you want to let go your breakfast that stuff does.

Oh hec, I thought we were talking perfume, roses, vanilla essence sort of stuff !! G
